I absolutely love relaxed rainy weekends. While I love to go on weekend trips and have exciting stories to tell, its also nice to just park it on the couch for the weekend and watch movies and knit. It's cooled off considerably here, thank goodness, and rained all weekend, which my garden is very happy about. I finished one baby sweater and am about halfway through another, and I think Alison and I watched 3 movies and several Sex and the City episodes. If anyone is looking for a good, artsy movie, try Ask the Dust. It was a bit weird in the beginning, but it was a really good movie, and Colin Farrell is quite nice to look at.

On our way to the Prairie Championships for rowing....we were in the prairies all right

Prairie Champs
Yes, I really do row! I'm third from the left, not that you can tell
I've got a cold. Blech...who gets a cold in the middle of the summer? All I want to do is curl up with a hot cup of tea but that's hardly reasonable when its 95 degrees outside. I just hope I'm better in the next few days. With the Royal Canadian Henley (rowing) in a week and a half this is not the best time to be sick. I decided to forgo any work this afternoon and take care of myself by going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean. Quite fun, not as confusing as some people have said, but they TOTALLY leave you hanging at the end, as everyone already knows. I'm right on track with working on my thesis proposal (hence not feeling bad by going to a movie). I was supposed to have an outline to my advisor by the end of next week, but emailed it to her on Monday, so I'm actually a bit ahead. I'll start writing in the next day or two. My incentive to finish is that I can move back to Anchorage when I'm done!
